Filename to Tags tool

The Filename to Tags tool is a tool which automates much of the Filename to Tag functionallity.

It will allow you to work with these features in a way similar to the Tag Editor.

Using the Filename to Tags tool

  1. Start the tool from Edit > Filename to Tags...
  2. All your selected files will be shown in the tool, and their filenames will automatically be parsed to fill the information in the cells.
  3. Optionally adjust the automatically parsed values to make them correct.
  4. Click OK to apply the changes to tags.

Modifying automatically matched templates

  1. To modify an automatically matched template, follow the steps below:
  2. Make sure that the Template column is visible. If it is not visible, right-click the column headers and select Customize... From this dialog you will be able to make it visible.
  3. Click the right most  button (...) when hovering over the cell to open the Edit Template dialog.
  4. Edit the template using the available codes. To select a code, click the Codes button and select the code you want to use.
  5. Click OK to use your edited template.

If the template is valid, the template column will be shown with a light green background color, if not it will be shown with a light red background color.

Note

If you are aware of the available Filename to Tag codes, you can enter these directly in the cell without the need to open the Edit Template dialog.
