Add another ..then by field for sorting

Postby AcIdC0R3 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:17 am

It would be nice if we could have a another '..then by' drop down list and have a custom field in the drop down list. I like to sort by Album, Release Year, Album. If there are multiple albums from the same year there is no way to sort those according to the date they were released. By using a custom field we could assign a number to it for those albums that were released within the same year.

Cheers...

Seconded - I have to use the Album Subtitle field for this at the moment.

Thanks

I agree - If you select your Entire Library, you could then sort by Artist, Album, Discnumber, Track.

Thanks.

I use one of the custom fields to add month or month and date creating folder names like this:
2008.10.17. Black Ice (Album) [DCCD21]
The set-up is easy, first release year, then custom 1, then title, then release type and finally catalogue number.
And for sorting I use first by path and then by file-name.
The full path for track one is as follows:
I:\Music\AC_DC\2008.10.17. Black Ice (Album) [DCCD21]\Disc 1\01. AC_DC - Rock 'n Roll Train (VBR 1125 kbps).flac

The only slightly annoying thing is that I can't get it to ignore adding a disc # folder for one-disc releases.

With the Path, File-name sorting everything ends up exactly like it should, it's a lot better then using album, release year, CD or something similar.
I also believe that Path, File-name is the default sorting order in HMM.

Hope that helps...
