Application Won't Start

When trying to start Helium 7 I get the following error message:

Exception EAccessViolation in Module RPCRT4.dll at 0000F621.
Access violation at address 77E7F621 in module 'RPCRT4.dll'. Read address 0259000


Running XP Pro SP3 w/ Helium Free version 7.0.0.7815

The application won't run and I have to close out of the error message.
Any Suggestions?

Did you trie to re-install HMM (build 7815)?

I had HMM 2009 already installed (working perfectly) then I tried to "upgrade" to HMM 7 on a separate install. I tried both 7795 and 7815 with the same result.
I uninstalled 2009 and tried to reinstall 7815 but same result. I reinstalled HMM 2009 and it still works. @###!!

I have the same problem.
The program worked fine till last week.
Helium music manager 2009 is still OK.

A lot has changed between Helium 2009 and 7 - there are numerous dlls that have been changed, added or replaced in the last version and it will be difficult to track this down, especially for me or other users as we don't have any technical background knowledge.

Therefore I would like to ask all of you who get this kind of message (something with AccessViolation) to contact our support to get further help.

Well,

Here with Windows 7 Enterprise (dutch) it won't start at all...
I get a helium7.exe in the taskmanager but nothing happens...
I did a fresh install of my PC so it was not an Helium upgrade...

It does now!

I installed it again while running the installer as an administrator.
I changed the compatibility mode so that Helium 7 is run as an administrator.

Similar problem here. Have Helium 9 working just fine. Go for an install of Helium 7 and the program does not launch. The install completes but the program never launches. I am running W7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. It doesn't matter if I install or run as administrator, it never starts.

Which build number are you using?
Please make sure that you use the most recent build at the moment (7837)

I was using 7835. Helium now starts just fine. Thanks MS.

Hi I am having a similar problem. Helium will just not start-up. I get a spalsh screen, words flash up in the top left corner then pow, nothing.

I have followed the tips etc. uninstalled, deleted files, clened reg etc (+rebooted) many times but always fails on startup. when it says it is performing the Database check. also in the "log/mif" file the last line mentions an error.

General Error: Error creating object. Please verify that the Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 (or later) have been properly installed Exception

Now as I understand it x64 does not have a version of te MDAC to install, so that is not an option.

I am tryiing with Helium version "7.0.0.7856", on Win 7 x64, I have MySQL installed (tho not started) also have SQL 2008 Express installed, to see if it had any M$ bits that might help, it didnt.
I also have Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installed if thats any help cos I know that has a lot of data access bits in it( although I uninstalled most of them, cos I prefer MySQL, thats why I installd the SQL 2008 to see if the missing bits would be installed)

Please, any help would be appreciated.

Well haven't seen that yet and I am also working on Windows 7 x64. Problem is that I can't help you any further cause I have no idea where to start on this one. I can only ask you to contact our support, they may have a test utility or somethign to find out where the problem is.

I've got the same problem.. can't even install helium (7856)

Incorrect JET version detected (0.00.0000.0000).
Required version: 4.00.7328.0000

I'm using Win 7 x64 and cant find a solution for this problem, because there is no installer for MDAC or something on x64 systems and the only solution i found on google is changing paths in with regedit?!
Doesn't work on my system.
