Ctrl+C in Filename field (Tag Editor)

Postby MusicJunkie » Sat Feb 13, 2010 4:06 pm

In the Tag Editor exist in bottom a textfield for Filename. It contain the complete path to the selected file.

If I mark some text (for example from folder) and press Ctrl+C then the clipboard it not always filled with new value. It's like russian roulette, some time it work and some time not. If I use context menu then it work every time.

I tested this and it never happened that the marked text was copied to the clipboard. Every time the currently selected tag field has been copied into the clipboard.

Build used for testing: currently available beta of Helium 7.1

Did you test it with this textfield for filename? (see image)

If I open Tag Editor mark some text from the showed (image) textfield, press Ctrl+C, mark some text-cell in grid and press Ctrl+V then nothing happens. If I copy and paste again then it works. Maybe it dno't work first time after open the dialog... :?

Hm, we are using different builds for testing - that is not good.

As written in the other thread - can you test with the 7.1 beta?

Can be reproduced with 7.2.8530... :?

Open Tag Editor. Mark one field with text of one file. Now you can see path of selected files. Mark some part of the path. Press Ctrl+C. Put the clipboard value for example in Notepad...
Now you can see, even if path-textbox had focus and you marked some part of the path, in clipboard is text of selected cell of the grid, that don't had focus.

This is a problem that can occur on some systems (not all), related to the Windows Message chain delegates.
A solution which should work properly on all systems has been implemented for the next release.
A workaround is to select the text, right-click on the field and select "Copy", which will copy the selected text to the clipboard.

Registered users are welcome to contact us via the Customer Center and get access to a test version which solves this problem.
