Playing library without playlist

Postby G0gge » Tue Jun 26, 2007 5:08 pm

Hi,
Before I got Helium I use to use iTunes, and i really loved the fact that I could play the library without having to create a playlist, and ALL my music was in one list that I could easily sort as I wanted. At first glance Helium appeared to have the same ability to sort everything (I just imported my iTunes library) but I found out that it Required a playlist. When I played a song it had to import it to an Active Playlist and after the song was finished it stopped.

Is there a way to continuously play from the library without creating a playlist?

Edit:
P.S. Is there a way to listen to My Recommendations radio of Last.fm? I mean since Helium has my login info and access to Last.fm, why not be able to play My Recommendations radio? That would be awesome.

Hi,
there is something you could try. Right click on the Playlist and select "Configure Auto Enque" and then you could select "Add random tracks". If you activate that and minimize the playlist it would be like playling tracks from the library without a playlist.

Regarding your P.S., not that is not yet possible, send a feature request to the developers if you want it to be included at some point in the developing.

Yeah but in iTunes it isn't random. I have the iTunes sorted Artist>Album>Track Number... So I basically listen through each album before the next starts. If it's random it'll play crazy order, which I wont like.

So you wish to add a full album at once, or not? Then why you don't select "Add random album". That would do it, or not?

You want all your files in one playlist?
Just go to the search view and search for "*"

I want the same thing as you, but it's hard to explain what you want.

I haven't figured out a workaround for it yet, apart from ctrl+a to add all of the files to a playlist, but thats a bit lame...

I´m looking for the same thing I think.
Here´s an image:

I want to start playing for example song #2 by double clicking it in the library (Album details) and then it should keep playing the rest of the songs after that in the library.
How do I do this?

Well simply said - you have to create a playlist to hear some music, you can not use your current content view as your playlist, that is simply not possible.
If you want to have it as a feature request simply send it to use over the customer center or here: http://www.helium-music-manager.com/contact-us/
