Problem with Edit in Cells and Autocomplete

Postby MusicJunkie » Sat Feb 13, 2010 1:06 pm

Let's say I have many files in my library, now I have one file without any tags, but title in the filename.
OK, I need for this file fuction like "Filename to Tag". After dialog popup I like to change generated title or another value.

Generated title is for example "ON". After double-click with wouse on the cell will be placed the combobox editor and what I see... my "ON" text was automaticaly replaced by "On A Freak (Radio Edit)".

The Problem is, that in my libraly "ON" don't exist jet, but "On A Freak (Radio Edit)" is already in it. Autocomplete function try to select the same item in combobox, but the first value is "On A Freak (Radio Edit)" so it will be selected. :(

This autocomplete "bug" exist in "Tag Editor" to. It is also general problem with autocomplete.

Another problem is when I try to write text in emty cell without dopuble-click on cell... Mark cell, press "P" will be "鱰"... (P != 鱰 or?) If I write the text without any changes, the it will be "鱰remonition of a Breeze" and not "Premonition of a Breeze".

Sorry for my bad english.

Are you aware that you can change the templates that Helium uses for the file name to tag feature? Have a look at the documentation page: http://www.helium-music-manager.com/filename-to-tags-tool/

Regarding your other problem, try to clear the storage for the auto-complete feature. This is done in the options. Open Tools | Options | Advanced | Library. In lower part of the screen you can change which words Helium will use for the auto-completion feature. Simply select which table you want to edit (there is a different one for every Tagfield) and click on Synchronize in the lower right bottom - this will load the database content into the list, then you can delete all problematic entries and then click on Apply to write the changes into the database.

Hello Listener,

thanks for your reply. Yes I know the posibility to create user defined templates, even if them don't work with unicode to. (see http://www.helium-music-manager.com/forum/filename-to-tags-unicode-t4793.html)

I tried to clean the cache in option dialog. (selected every table, delete complete value of the textbox and applied my changes) After double-click in the "Tag Editor" the combobox was still not empty... (even after restart of HMM after another clean action)

Then I tried to synchronize and delete all unicode entries. (for the problem with "鱰") After I opened the "Tag Editor" egain and double-clicked on the title cell it was in ComboBox.
It looks like it will be filled every time I edit some tags.

Another problem with Autocomplete:
For example I have titles in my library like "Power of Love" and "power of sun". Now I like to edit the last one. Open "Tag Editor", double click on title cell, mark first "p" char and press "P". Now the whole title changed to "Power of Love" and not "Power of sun". :?

Yes of course, that's how Helium acquires the data for the auto-completion feature. So it's just the way it works.

I just tested this one. The title field has the value "House". I checked the auto-completion list and it has some entries before and after this term (like Horse or Human). I now opened the field for editing (with a double click and F2 for testing purpose) and changed the first letter to an "h". This was done both by deleting the first letter and then writing a new one (both with del and backspace) and by marking it and then pressing "h". The letter was properly replaced and the auto-completion didn't jump in to change something.

This has been tested with the current version of Helium 7.1 available in the customer center.

I guess that this has been fixed in the 7.1 beta
