Helium Music Manager does not start
Question
Helium Music Manager does not start. What can I do?
Answer
We recommend a clean installation of Helium Music Manager, by cleaning the registry and folders. Please follow the instructions below:
- Uninstall Helium Music Manager from Windows Add/Remove programs.
- Remove any remaining folders. These are usually located in
C:\Program Files\Intermedia Software\ (C:\Program Files (x86)\Intermedia Software\ on 64-bit systems)
And your user settings, located in
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Intermedia Software\Helium 7\ (if using Windows XP)
or
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Intermedia Software\Helium 7\ (if using Windows Vista or Windows 7)
- Download, unzip and run the registry cleaning file (click Yes when asked if you want to modify the registry).
- Download and run the Cleanup utility and click the "Perform Cleanup (Admin Account)" button.
- Start the Cleanup utility once again and click "Perform Cleanup (Local Account)" this time.
- Reboot your computer (THIS IS IMPORTANT!).
- Download and install the latest release of Helium Music Manager.
- Make sure that as few applications as possible are running in the background (please stop all programs running in the system-tray in the lower right of your screen. Especially programs such as Windowblinds, which can cause instability in other applications).
- Run Helium Music Manager.
Note:
- You may be receiving a dialog message saying Error code: 0xAB96E78CB15A0093 when starting. This problem can also be remedied with the instructions above.
