Report Wizard
Introduction
The Report Wizard can export your music collection to plain text, html,
csv or any other format. The templates
used to create reports can be modified in any text editor to customize
the layout of the report.
Using the Report Wizard
The Report Wizard can be run in two different ways:
- With tracks to create a report for selected
- Without any track selected. You will be able to create
database searches to define which tracks to include in the report. You
will also be able to create a report of your entire database.
Starting the Report Wizard with tracks selected
From any
View in Helium Music
Manager except the
Music Information
Browser, browse for the tracks you want to create a report for, select
them and start the Report Wizard using any of the methods below:
- Click the Tools | Create Report
in the main
menu.
- Click the
button on the main
toolbar and select Create
Report.
- Right click the selected tracks and select the Tools | Create Report
option.
Starting the Report Wizard without tracks selected
When starting the Report Wizard without any tracks selected it will
try to select all tracks in the track
list if there are no tracks to select it will start with the query
editor and you can search for the tracks to include in your report.
Start the Report Wizard using any of the following ways.
- Click the Tools | Create Report
in the main
menu.
- Click the
button on the main
toolbar and select Create
Report.
- Right click the selected tracks and select the Tools | Create Report
option.
If you want to use the query
editor and you already started with some files selected, you can click
the Back-button, choose the Database option and click Next-button.
Previewing/changing options
Choose one of the following report types:
Choose the template you want to use for your report, use the Preview button
to view a preview of the report. You can also click the Edit Template
button to open the template file in Notepad.
Use
the Browse and Save buttons to choose where to save your report on disk.
