Split Volume Root

Introduction to Split Volume Root

The Split Volume Root tool enables you replace an individual Volume Root by splitting it into multiple Volume Roots.

Splitting a Volume Root is required if you wish to move subfolders into different Volumes.

Using Split Volume Root

  1. Navigate to the Volume containing the Volume Root you would like to from the Music Library.
  2. Right click the Volume and select Properties...
  3. From the Volume Properties dialog.

  4. Select the Volume Root you would like to split into multiple roots from the Volume Root Paths list.

  5. Click the Split Volume Root button.

  6. Navigate to the desired folder level in the tree to the left. When a folder is selected in the left tree, the right list will contain a list of all the new Volume Roots that will replace the old Volume Root.

  7. Click OK to create the new Volume Roots or Cancel to abort the operation.
