The Edit Artist Information

Introduction

This dialog contains controls to edit information about a specific artist such as a image of the artist, biography , home counrty, several types of relations to other artist/groups and much more.

Editing biography

Enter or edit text for the artist's biography. The text can be formatted using the bold and italic   button.

To format the text, select the text you would like to format and then click the desired formatting button. To remove all formatting for the selected text, click the remove formatting button .

The links button enables you to create hyperlinks from words in the text to other Music Information Browser pages. You can create links to the following Music Information Browser pages:

• Artist page
• Album page
• Genre page
• Year page
• Publisher page

Other controls

Here is a list of the information that can be added to an artist.

• Artist Picture
• Is Artist - Select this option if the selected artist is a single artist (default)
• Is Group - Select this option if the selected is a group
• Born Name
• Sort Order - Controls how this artist will be sorted
• Aka
• Group Members
• Member Of
• Home Country
• Webpage
• Born/Formed
• Died/Disbanded

Apply artist data to tags

Click the Apply... button to apply the following fields to tags for all files from the selected artist available in your Database:

• Biography

• Artist Picture

• Artist Sort Order

• Webpage

Download artist information from internet

Click the Download Information   to download artist data from the installed plug-ins. Click here to read more about downloading artist information.

Editing artist relations

There are five types of artist relations available for editing from the edit artist dialog. Select the relation type you want to edit by clicking one of the tabs at the top.

The following artist relation types are available:

• Similar artists
  When you add a Similar Artist relation, then the target artist will also get a Similar Artist relation added for the originating artist.
• Influenced By
  When you add an Influenced By relation, then the target artist will get a Followers relation added for the originating artist.
• Followers
  When you add a Followers relation, then the target artist will get an Influenced By relation added for the originating artist.
• See also
  When you add a See Also relation, then the target artist will also get a See Also relation added for the originating artist.
• Performed Songs By

To add a new relation, either enter the name of the artist in the edit-control (separate artists with newlines) or click the Get Artist... button to select a specific artist that exists in your database.

You can also click the Download Information button to download artist relations from the installed plug-ins.
