Manual BPM Counter

The Manual BPM (Beats Per Minute) Counter is used when you want to set the BPM for your tracks manually or if the Automatic BPM Counter is unable to calculate an accurate BPM value for your tracks.

Using the Manual BPM Counter

You reach the Manual BPM Counter from the Tag Editor (Advanced). Perform the following steps to calculate an accurate BPM for your tracks:

  1. Open one or more tracks in the Tag Editor (Advanced).

  2. Play the track by clicking the Play button at the bottom of the Tag Editor (Advanced) dialog.

  3. Click the Manual BPM button on the BPM control to show the Manual BPM Counter dialog.

  4. Wait for the first notable beat in the track that is currently playing and start clicking the Beat button once for each beat in the song. The values for the Beats Per Minute, Elapsed Time and Number of Beats will update on each click of the Beat button. After a short time you will notice that the Beats Per Minute label is within a certain value span.

  5. Click the Stop button when you have found an accurate BPM for the track you are playing.

  6. Click the OK button to save the BPM value to the BPM field in the Tag Editor (Advanced). The BPM value shown in the Manual BPM Counter dialog will be rounded to the nearest number.

Note:

  • Click the Clear button if you want to start the BPM calculation from scratch.

  • The BPM can be automatically calculated for tracks from within both the Tag Editor and the Tag Editor (Advanced).
