Now Playing

The Now Playing pane shows information about the track that is currently being played.

1. Make sure the Right Sidebar is visible.
2. Click the Now Playing tab control at the bottom of the Right Sidebar

The Now Playing pane details

The Now Playing pane is divided into several sections which all display different kinds of information.

 

Current Track

This section shows:

• The cover (if available) of the Album which the track is present on
• Artist, Title, Album, Release Year and Length information of the track.
  Clicking Artist, Title, Album or Release Year will take you to the corresponding Music Browser page when clicked.

Tasks

This section enables you to perform different tasks on the file that is currently being played. Click a task link to perform one of the following tasks:

• Edit Tags
  This task opens the Tag Editor with the file that is currently being played.

• Edit Tags (Advanced)
  This task opens the Tag Editor (Advanced) with the file that is currently being played.

• Analyze file
  This task opens the MP3 Analyzer with the file that is currently being played.

• Explorer Source Folder
  This task opens the folder where file that is currently being played in Windows Explorer.

Last.fm functions

This section within Tasks is only present if Last.FM is enabled. It enables  you to perform different tasks related to Last.fm:

• Love this track
  This task adds the file that is currently being played to your loved tracks in Last.fm. It will also add the track to Helium Music Managers favourite tracks.

• Tag this track
  This task allows you to add a tag to the file that is currently being played to use within Last.fm's website.

• Add to Playlist
  This task adds the file that is currently being played to your Last.fm playlist.

Suggested Tracks

This section shows suggested tracks based on the currently playing track. Genre information and artist relations are used to find suggested tracks. By defining genres more accurately and by specifying artist relations (such as similar artists and AKA's) in the Edit Artist Information dialog you can make the suggested tracks section more accurate. Play counter is also taken into account when generating the suggested tracks list. This means that if you have many tracks that are suggested, the least played tracks are shown first.
 
The artist and title is linked directly to the Music Browser, in the same way as the links in the General Information section.  

Favourites

This section shows the tracks with the highest rating and play counter from the artist of the currently playing track.
 
The title is linked directly to the Music Browser, in the same way as the links in the General Information section.

Recent Releases

This section shows the most recent releases made by the artist of the currently playing track, sorted by release year descending. All tracks from the currently playing album will be shown under this album.
 
The artist, album, title and release year is linked directly to the Music Browser, in the same way as the links in the General Information section.

Biography

This section displays the picture of the artist/group currently being played as well as their biography (if available).
The picture and biography can be added/edited using the Edit Artist Information tool.
