Search view

From the Search view you can search through all your audio files, whether they are available on your hard drive, on a CD-ROM or any other media. You can specify Artist, Album, Title, song length, Genre and many other fields to search for.

Using the Search View

Show the Search view by clicking View > Views > Search from the main menu.

The Search View has two different search modes; simple and advanced. The Simple mode is easy to use, while the Advanced mode let's you choose exactly what to search for in many different tag fields. To use the Advanced search click on the Advanced Search button. 

Using Simple search

  1. Type words to search for in the Search for input box.
  2. Select Exact matches to only search for exact matches of the words in the Search for input box.
    If Exact matches is disabled, all music items containing the string in the Search for box will be found.
  3. Select Search in subtracks to enable searching for subtracks created with the Subtrack Editor.
  4. Specify which field that the search should be performed on, size and length by selecting the appropriate option.
  5. Click on the Search button to start the search.

Note:

  • The simple search searches through all tag fields containing texts including folders and filenames.
  • You may use wildcards (* and ?) in your search query.

Using Advanced search

Clicking the advanced search link will show the Query Editor where you can specify several field values to search for at once, after clicking OK the search is performed and the result is displayed in the track list.
To quickly load a stored Advanced Query, right click in the Search View and select one of the store queries (if any) from the context menu.
