Picture is worth a thousand words. You'd get a leg up on the competition. Some of the other media players have them, and they're much more intuitive. Than a hundred pages of FAQ. Just the basics need be covered. ~ How to add files. ~ How to convert files. ~ How to organize playlists. ~ How to play all files randomly.
Thanks for the suggestions. While we currently only have two movies, we want to find the time to make more in our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/HeliumMusicManager
I fully support this request for an increased focus on up-to-date Helpfiles and Tutorials. IMHO it is "the biggest missing feature" of the product at this stage. Helium is a fantastic piece of software, but if users don't realize the full potential of the software, it won't benefit to the succes, perception, adoption & sales of the program. Short videos on How-To's, ranging from basic features to more advanced usage scenario's, would be really helpful. Marketing the tutorial video's would be the next step. A good first step would be to compile a wish-list of video tutorials. Thanks and kind regards, GunBee.
Video Wish List: How to import media. How to play media. ~ How to play a single album. ~ How to play all your top rated songs randomly. ~ How to send single / multiple tracks to new playlist. ~ How to select and listen to other playlists. ~ How to randomize 'playing queue' / 'now playing list' once playing. ~ Go over options of adding 5 or more songs to playing queue. Etc. ~ How to 'find more by same artist', and play that next. Editing tag information for multiple files. Listening to internet radio, subcribing to podcasts. How to burn a CD/Data DVD. ~ Burning playlists. ~ How to encode file / track information. ~ Cover Art, Playlist / m3u. creation. How to convert files. How to find lyrics/album art. All this can be covered in one 10 minute tutorial. Also: How to do all the spiffy keen things HMM can do...that I don't know about. "Tips and tricks", Etc. Basically, just like you were at home, with a friend hovering over your shoulder, showing them all the fun stuff you can do with your new toy. Before you made them a mixed CD. Of legally sharable songs of course!
Thanks for the suggestions. We really want to produce some nice tips & tricks videos and these ideas are excellent!
Just a friendly bump to this thread : <bump> Now that HMM 9 is in full swing, it'd be great to see updated Help files and video Tutorials. Thanks and kind regards, GunBee.
>>Now that HMM 9 is in full swing, it'd be great to see updated Help files The most help sections should be up-to-date with Helium Music Manager 9.0.2, but if you find any section that seens incorrect, please let us know and we will correct it. Thanks.
