Just upgraded to 8.6 from 7.? Did the Add music routine and when it completed, all of the songs displayed under "Track details" where missing Title and Artist information. Checked several songs using MP3 Tag and Version 7, and the information was still in the MP3 Tag. Closed it down, and reopened it this morning. Surprise - the Artist and Title information is now back. Edited a few songs this morning, and same thing - Artist and Title not displaying under "Track details". Closed and re-opened HMM, and the information is now displayed. Just tried it again with a single song. Right-click on file, Edit, Tags (advanced), made changes to several fields (but not Title, Artist or Album). Click "Finish". Sort the Track Details list by Title. The track I just edited sorts to the top of the list (no information is shown under "Title"). Close HMM. Re-open and sort Track Details by Title. Blank row at the top is now gone.
It sounds like the information is correctly saved to both database and tags (which is good) but that it somehow misses to show the information correctly before restarting. We haven't heard about this particular problem before. Could you please contact us using the link below and we will investigate further? Thanks. http://www.helium-music-manager.com/customer-center/
Hmmm, interesting that the Pending Jobs dialog comes up each time, I know there has been a thread on this recently also. With just one small change like you did in the video I would not expect that but then again, these tracks are in the player so that may explain that. Do you still get the same issue editing tracks not in the active playlist?
Thanks for the movie. It helped us being able to replicate this bug. Just to check on a few things before we start investigating why it happens: Do you have the Use sort order and Show sort order values turned on in Settings > Sort order? Will the information show correctly if you press CTRL-F5 after having lost the values in the columns?
Hi Fredrik. I also have this issue. I find it happens mostly when the files I am editing are on my NAS server on the network. It doesn't seem to be as problematic when the files are on the local hard drive. Also it doesn't seem to happen if the files have not yet been added to the database. Lately I perform all my tag editing before I add the files to the database and the perform the final rename / move function. That is the best work around I have found so far. If you are testing a beta or something to resolve this issue please let me know. Carl.
We believe we have resolved this issue in an upcoming release of HMM. Please contact us if you want the link to this release. Please note that this release will upgrade your database which means that you cannot go back to your current version of HMM so you will need to perform a backup first.
I have installed HMM 8 now on another computer (removed it of course from the original) to check if the problem could exist on mine, updated the program, still HMM 8 works like crap with a Big C, album titles are not updated and i have to constantly remove it from the database and reload it in HMM, when will this problem be solved, i have not much hope on it, it seems that the Firm IS has earned enough money and they dont bother anymore.
As Fredrik mentioned above, this release is most likley solved in our upcoming version which is planned to be released soon. If you are interested, you can still contact us to get a link to this release and try it out as previously mentioned in this forum thread. We have been doing many tests together with jtcom (big thanks for the testing help) and other users, and their problem is confirmed solved with the upcoming release.
Hmm and that will give another problem, i think it is better to get rid of all the extras since the HMM 2008 because this version worked reasonable.
As Mikael mentioned we have been testing the new version extensively. For whatever reason my system seems to be able to find and suffer from the bugs when they are there and currently the new version is running quite well and stable (Even with some nice new features!) lol. Carl.
